What's under the barbell.

Gym rubber flooring is engineered to absorb impact from dropped weights, reduce noise, and protect the structural slab. Here's a commercial-grade EPDM system.

EPDM Wear Layer
3 mm

3mm coloured EPDM granule wear layer. Custom colours available. Anti-slip surface (R11). Resistant to sweat, cleaning chemicals, and UV.

SBR Base
15–50 mm

15–47mm black SBR rubber base (density 800–1100kg/m³). The shock absorption and sound dampening layer. Thickness selected by equipment weight: 15mm for cardio, 25mm for functional, 50mm for free weights.

Bonding Layer

PU adhesive bond to concrete. Full-surface application for permanent installation. No hollow spots that cause cracking under load.

Damp-Proof Membrane
0.5 mm

0.5mm DPM prevents moisture migration from concrete to rubber. Essential in basements and ground-floor gyms.

Structural Slab
150 mm

150mm RCC M25 slab. Load capacity >10kN/m² for heavy weight zones. Levelled to ±3mm over 2m for uniform rubber thickness.

Common Questions

Things buyers want to know.

If your question is not answered here, drop us a line — we reply within 24 hours.

EPDM vs SBR — which is better for my gym?

EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer): UV-stable, colour-retentive, premium feel, available in custom colours. Best for commercial gyms and areas with natural light. SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber): 80% recycled content, more economical, excellent shock absorption, indoor use only. Choose EPDM for premium commercial facilities; SBR for budget-conscious and eco-friendly projects.

How long does gym flooring installation take?

EPDM rubber tiles: 5 to 7 days for a 500 sqft gym including adhesive curing. SBR rolls: 3 to 5 days. PU foam: 1 to 2 days. Full commercial gym (2000+ sqft): 1 to 2 weeks. We also handle equipment layout marking and logo embedding.

Can you do custom colours and logos?

Yes, EPDM flooring can be custom-blended to match brand colours — we can create gradients, patterns, and embedded logos using different colour granules. Popular combinations: black base with grey fleck, custom brand colours, and zone-coded colours (red for free weights, blue for cardio, etc.).

What does it cost per square foot?

EPDM rubber: ₹110–170 per sqft — UV-stable, colour-retentive, custom colours available, best for commercial gyms with natural light. SBR recycled rubber: ₹70–110 per sqft — 80% recycled content, economical, indoor use only. PU foam: ₹55–85 per sqft for lightweight cardio and functional training zones. A 1000 sqft commercial gym ranges from ₹2.5 lakhs to ₹8+ lakhs depending on thickness, colour customisation, and zone complexity.

Do you provide equipment layout planning?

Yes, our team includes gym design consultants who help plan equipment zones, traffic flow, functional training areas, and storage. We coordinate with equipment vendors to ensure flooring zones match equipment placement. This service is complimentary with flooring projects.

How do I maintain rubber flooring?

Daily: vacuum or dust mop. Weekly: damp mop with neutral pH cleaner. Monthly: deep clean with auto-scrubber. Avoid: harsh chemicals, excess water, and dragging equipment. Rubber flooring is extremely durable — with proper maintenance, EPDM lasts 8-10 years and SBR lasts 5-8 years.
